I want to re-write my bio. It sucks, it's too long, and it just feels stupid.

I wouldn't even have the thing if I didn't feel it useful when going through the whole friend adding process. I like it when I can go to someone's user page and figure out what their feelings about adding and being added are, and sometimes to learn things about them, but mostly just whether they're going to bite me if I add them, which so far no one has.

I'm curious what other people like about user info and wish they saw more of. I don't need to hear all about what you hate, but if you need a place to vent about it I am open to this as well... Go nuts, and feel free to talk amongst yourselves. I should probably be going to the store instead of being here anyway.

And I'm sorry if I disappear, the PMS monster is upon me.

I usually feel people's bios are too short or irrelevant. What use is a bio that doesn't tell people about you? Write what you like.

I hate long, useless bios, with links and pictures and "Frankenfurter is love" icons. Waste of space, that is.

Mine, on the other hand, is my favorite kind of bio (some other people have similar bios). It's the kind of thing I can leave up and will be useful to new people to my journal. There's very little I don't like about the why user info is set up, here, especially since the changes where they separated out users, communities and feeds on the F-list. I also like the posting stats.

*snickers loudly* I know someone with one of those banners! Actually I probably know several, but anyway, the only one I've ever been tempted by was "Farscape is Freaky Alien Love" but that's it ;)

I was also quite gleeful when they added those features. I am just that scattered that it really helped my life immensely.

I like the categories you have going, and the use of links. I was thinking of something along that style, but it would take a while to set up. My urge lately has been toward a quick fix until I have more head space to do a "good" job.

I'm a fan of information, and lots of it. Not like people HAVE to read it, if they don't want to. Nothing wrong with links, though...

My bio is non existent, because I don't expect to be friending strangers. If I did, I would definitely want to do something more like what you have done.

I like silliness. Mine is nothing but silly. When I look at someones bio I want to laugh or be intrigued.
