The peak of defiance
Aug. 23rd, 2004 06:04 pmToday has been all about peaches. We're laying down the law because we're just not getting anywhere with getting him to eat better. Today I thought I couldn't take it. We didn't have breakfast, he had screaming, and I had some peaches. We didn't have lunch, he had screaming, and I had peaches. Most of the afternoon we fought and made up, and at about 3:00 after listening to a few tirades about milk, and the lack thereof, and anything else but peaches, I talked to uniquecrash5 about it and decided to steam some carrots as an alternative selection. Presented with a second option, he finally out of nowhere sat down and ATE the FUCKING peaches. And I had some too, thanking myself for not giving up like I had been about to do. Then to top it off, he even ate a carrot.
So for the next few weeks you can expect me to regale you of stories of torturing my child in the name of nutrition....
Either that or a much delayed post after I've been released from the loony bin, we'll see how it goes. I realize he's at the peak of his 3 year old defiance, but I am in the valley of my new parenting patience...

no seriously, well done!! I always have a high respect for parents like you. You don't let your kid run off and do his own thing, and you care enough to keep on it. Way to go. :)
