Last night we're sitting around after K had gone to sleep and we start to discuss this smell we're picking up in the room- neither of us can decide what it is. Is it shoes? Is it dog? Is it food? Dead animal? What the hell? Later as we're getting into bed, I smell the smell again and I ask Crash about whether he's looked at Betty's butt since she came back in, he says no. I feel her briefly but I feel nothing, but I do begin to suspect that she is the source of the smell.
All night long I smelled it. I couldn't decide what it was, was it the laundry? No, the laundry in the room was the clean laundry. The trash in the room didn't contain anything interesting that I was aware of, and while the sheets haven't been changed that recently, I have never known sheets to go from "not fresh" to "ungodly stench" in less time than it takes a flower to wilt.
In the morning I awoke after a long dream about being trapped in a damp trash filled alley to the dog, laying on the floor, and the smell now overwhelming. I picked her up to put her back in her bed so I wouldn't trip over her, more stink. I start actually thinking about it, and realize she was out for some serious time last night and probably did what most dogs do, so today the only thing I've managed to do besides post the previous pictures was give the stinky thing a bath... Oh the dirt, I am a bad doggie mom...
It also made me remember I haven't posted any pictures of her- so here's a couple old ones that still look just like her. She never changes, she just slows down a little, and gets deafer and blinder as time goes on.

This one is a side view of the "Betty Missile Position" which I will at some point try to find a better picture of- she kicks her feet out behind her.
For the curious, she's half Jack Russell, half Poodle- A Jack Roodle Perrier! ;)
