Part of being on LJ is that you end up gaining a number of LJ buddies.  Unfortunately, with age and CIA mind-control rays wearing away at our brains, it's easy to forget where they all came from.  Post this in your journal and have your friends respond with how they recall first meeting you (online meetings count as well!).


(edit: I am curious to see how many of you that know me from real life can recall how we first met, I think I can!)

Well, that's a no-brainer: How do you forget an 8-hour housemate interview? We must have talked about college & cats, but what I really remember is talking about Neil Gaiman. & then going to Buffallo Bill's for ... dinner? Late lunch? Curly fries ... mmmm ...

But how could you forget our 1 hour phone conversation when I called to ask about the room?? I think I knew I had a good shot at it when I ended up talking to you for so long about Puig's kittenhood over the phone :)

And I think the interview only lasted about 4 but who could really tell! I think we knew it was a match :)

I believe you got put into the corner room I'd been eyeing, and as I remember we met because I was a little testy that they gave it to a FIRST YEAR :P

As I remember though it came out later that your being in that room had saved us from someone else that might have ended up in that room- someone about 6 ft tall, female, and very very scary :)

Nope, I was always in the dorms. I think it might have been my first year on B-1, I moved there from the C basement (where I'd escaped to from the loudest hall on Dakin). I actually moved to B-1 because of Jane, believe it or not ;) My main attempt at the mods happened that year as I recall with Ben, Zip, Hoted, and several others including myself trying to get a mod and losing the lottery. I never actually lived in a mod until the summer after graduation!

I've met some of my favorite lj friends there- shame it's such a powder keg anymore, I went back to reading it, but I'm always scared to friend people there now :P You already had people in common with me when you showed up, so I was always cool with you ;)

That road trip will go down as one of my favorite memories of all time- I want to do something similar again, though probably with a lot less of the wickedness part ;) but you know what I mean... Amazing drive, I could do it again and again and again (and I have!) and doing it with you along for the ride was indeed a memory I will always treasure. You were an amazing travel companion, as it takes a rare bird to ride in a car with J and I without the dire need to kill us ;) we never shut up.

So if you're up to being dragged down to New Mexico some time I know Crash's mom would be tickled to see you!

I met you first in '96, at a party held by Magus & L (they had a cute little name for their place that escapes me); I arrived with Alex, y'all were up by the pool. I took practically no notice of you.

The first time you made a real impression on me was not long thereafter at a get-together at my place; you told a wonderful story about being in photoprocessing. I noted it in my journal that night after you'd all left, referring to you as Suzy, which you'll probably never let me live down.
