We missed the fireworks because after a few hours of wondering whether that pain meant tendon damage we ended up taking me to the emergency room to be looked at. I felt pretty silly sitting there with a tiny bandaid on my finger holding my arm above my head like I thought I was at risk of bleeding to death, when the truth was just that my finger throbbed less if I kept it there.
The ER was surprisingly empty for a holiday evening, especially one involving explosives, so it only took a long time before they saw me- no stitches, but I did get some of that new glue stuff, and a tetanus shot and of course a replacement bandaid, and a bill for $110. As stupid visits to the ER go, this was the cheapest, so I am not currently complaining.
I might not be typing much the next few days, gee, I wonder why! :)
