Well I almost got the kitchen clean, then I stopped to do the fish and promptly smashed one of my vases and cut open the knuckle on my middle finger of my right hand as a result. I don't think I need stitches, but it does seem to start bleeding again periodically, so I am not ruling it out for fun things to do later...

Buster was just trying to um, get comfy on my lap? Or was it that he thought my lap smelled ripe for something? I dunno what it was but it was starting to remind me of when Meerkat used to get up close and personal with a stuffed bear of mine so I booted him off my lap and he seemed pissy about it. I wondered what would have happened if I'd continued to tolerate him. I think there might still be some Tom in him despite his nuts having been gone for about 6 months. He has a tendency to stand outside the litter box waiting for Uhura to finish, this is also an unfortunate strike against him, and really uncool because at present he has his OWN box...

Still ended up drinking too much coffee. K is napping so we might actually catch the fireworks tonight! I still have to clean 2 fish bowls, and the laundry probably won't get touched... oh fucking well...

You wouldn't think that he'd have any residual testosterone lingering in his bloodstream after 6 months. But was Buster pretty much a grownup when he got snipped? I gather that, once acquired, some unpleasant Tomcat habits (the specific example I've heard is marking territory) persist even after they get fixed (hence the importance of doing it early).
