Oh do I feel guilty, but I guess I shouldn't.

I bought a camera, oh boy did I. I took greyaenigma's advice and got an Olympus Stylus 300... I was planning to spend money to get something worth having, and well, I guess I just can't settle anymore because we doubled the budget on the spot when we got financing- we're still paying it off in 90 days, but we agreed that in 90 days we could afford twice as much camera so that's what we got. I almost left with a Canon that might have been a bit more spiff, and was the same price, but on the durability and weatherability scale was not what I wanted- it was also like a little block, where the Stylus is smaller than some cell phones I've had.

The battery will take another hour or so to charge, but soon after that (assuming software installation doesn't prove our needing a new computer or other lame circumstance) I should have pictures up with so much resolution you will need HOURS to load them! :) *evil snicker* I promise to use cuts- and I don't have enough free web space to go too insane so fear not.

But NEW TOYS! Woo hoo! I can't believe I just spent all that money...

exciting! Funny, I was looking at digital cameras on line all morning -even though I can't possibly afford one right now. I really like the Cannon EOS Digital Rebel. Price? Crazy... Maybe next spring...

OOOooooooooOOOOO! I'm totally jealous! Take tons and tons of pictures of everything and post them constantly! *grin* Cuz that's what I will do when I get a cool camera. :P I have a digital camcorder, but it's such a pain to sit there and sift through the frames looking for a good still. :P I'm such a spoiled whiner! Hahahah I can't find the box the damn thing is in anyways. :/

My first was: I just hope reading your post will encourage Greyaenigma to USE and enjoy more of the photography toys already in his posession, more than to go out to 'pick up' more! (I think it's funny the way he says that, as casually-sounding as possible, he's 'picked up' a new something, as if avoiding the word 'bought' will make it cost less! Heh!)

*snicker* yeah, if you "pick something up" without "buying" it, they generally call it "stealing" ;) not his style, so yes, he should use his toys with pride!

I just came to the horrid realization that this is probably going to inspire new printer, monitor, video card, and maybe even eventual hard drive upgrades! What have I done!?!?! :)

Yes, it's the buying she has trouble with.

Anyway, one of the problems I have with the new camera (which is a blessing, as problems go) is that the pictures are of such high quality and resolution that I frequently fill up the hard drive on my laptop, since the photos are now so big I can easily take over a 100 megs a day of photos.

And if we went out and did more photogenic stuff, I could use my toys more (hint, hint)!
