It must be the feeling of isolation...

EDIT: this post is pretty old now- it's from Sunday- We had a thunder storm and it kept the modem confuzzled solidly all day- I saw NO Live Journal, NO email, NOTHING! grrrrrr....

I swear our modem has emotional problems- If you spend too much time ignoring it throughout the day it takes it out on you by not performing its duties at night, and today it seems it's just too scared of thunderstorms to function. I think it must feel isolated at the end of it's little phone cord that stretches over to the top of the printer, the computer isn't there to reassure it that there is nothing to be scared of, so it hid its head like an ostrich all morning until I gave up caring.

And all I wanted to tell you was how much fun I had last night- I managed to add myself to a party hosted by the lovely neeuqdrazil and the equally handsome curgoth.

You see, it's been a while since I got to be the one who saw a movie in the theater close to when it first came out- And Crash always seems to be working for people who send him to see the first showing of all these different movies, for free, and I get shafted as a result. I missed Matrix Revolutions entirely- we own it now, but I never got to see the BIG moments on the BIG screen- my mom may not understand, but I am a geek, it means something to ME...

So thanks to curgoth and neeuqdrazil I got to try to make up that gap by seeing both Kill Bill Vol. 1 AND 2 in one lovely evening! And hang out with people I haven't met before!

I showed up terribly late (as usual for me) and missed the first half of the first one, but they were nice enough to loan it to us so Crash and I could both see it and be able to talk about that one at least :)

I liked their friends, some of whom I know have live-journals, but of course I got to meet them by their real names, so I have no idea who was who if I should have at all :) but they were all very nice- and so nice to spend time around GEEKS! Crash has some really good friends here who are amazing and wonderful people, but their geek factors are a little on the low side.... I was being shy of course- when I am on my own I get that way, like half my brain has left the building. I wish I could figure out what it is about me that lets me feel more courageous socially when I am with even just one friend- It can be anyone, but one person I know being there can make a lot of difference- I know neeuqdrazil and curgoth a little, so I wasn't completely flat and quiet, but I still felt a little less me than I usually aim to be. I had fun anyway though, and managed to get home okay despite the movie being longer than anticipated. And it of course KICKED ASS :)

Seeing it in one sitting as one package, I can see now why they broke it into 2 parts, and I have to say it was probably a good thing.

:) I thought I recognized corwin77 from his icon actually- as soon as I walked in the door I said,
"I've seen that hair and goatee somewhere before..." *chin scratch* There were some other similar icon related wonderings I was also trying to peg and failing, and you know the one about curiosity killing the cat...

And then my modem was dead all weekend so I couldn't satisfy my curiosity! Cursed Modem! Thanks for filling in my blanks!

I also wanted to go on at greater length about how I really had a good time, but the damn modem had me so pissed... It's like the silly thing gets arthritis when it rains! :P

I also wanted to ask you how long we can hold onto Vol 1 for? K is not a great sleeper, so we have only gotten through Chapter 1, and may only be able to do a chapter a night depending on sleeping habits- I don't want to horde your DVD though :)
