It's BATURDAY!! Wait, what???
Aug. 11th, 2007 05:06 pmI almost forgot to mention- We had a bat attack last night! Well, not so much attack, since bats are really more scared of you than you need to be scared of them. Mostly Crash spent about 2 hours or more very early this morning trying to coax a very bewildered bat that had somehow found its way into our basement into flying out the front door. I woke up about 2/3 of the way through the whole ordeal, and ended up helping in the sense that my screaming at the thing to NOT GO BACK IN THE KITCHEN FOR FUCKS SAKES at top shrieking girl power volume that sent it upstairs where Crash was able to confuse it into the laundry basket where he finally pinned it with a box. Laundry basket carried out to porch, continuously squeaking in fear, once outside the box removed and the bat flew into the dark of early morning. Probably very very tired having played world war 1 flying ace with Crash's mop for a half hour in the living room.
We suspect he might be the same bat we spotted in the basement last week that seemed to vanish. My mom had a similar incident when I was living there of losing a bat somewhere in the house, but it did not survive, likely due to her house not being nearly as bug-infested as ours. Our basement is spider central, and there's also a few other crawly things down there I don't even want to think about. I bet that bat was almost sad he decided to wander out, otherwise we hadn't noticed him, except that maybe he was the thing that went bump in the night.
