The Meme- (this one yoinked from [livejournal.com profile] neeuqdrazil)
1. Leave me a casual comment of no particular significance, like a lyric to your current favorite song, or your favorite kind of sandwich, maybe your favorite game. Any remark, meaningless or not.
2. I will respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in your own post.
5. When others respond with a desultory comment, you will ask them five questions.

1. Why blue hair?
I had always wanted to try it, so when I had started bleaching back in 2002 and didn't have a serious full time job, it felt like the timing was right. I didn't actually work up the courage or the proper supplies to do it until Halloween 2003, the first time I dressed up as Hippy Bongstockings, a costume that seemed to fit me well. *cough cough cough cough cough* I ended up liking it so incredibly much that I vowed to do it as often as I possibly could. Sadly it's not cheap. If I can afford to bleach, you know you will see me in blue! I just think it looks awesome. Also, I still see blue as a natural colour, so what if it's usually flowers, not hair :P

2. If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Lots of places at once. I would have a house in Massachusetts somewhere within easy driving of both Boston and Southern CT. I might even *gasp* keep a house in CT if I can find a nice broken down cottage in the woods or something, those are often pretty fucking cool. Sadly I doubt there's a lot of those left. I'd also have a house right about where I am now, and then of course another one in Seattle. If we still had any money left over after that lottery bankroll has been depleted, I'd go for a fifth in Santa Fe near J's mom. She's awesome and I just like it there. I guess I like being near people I care about, and they happen to be splattered all over the place.

3. Who is the person you've reconnected with on Facebook that you have the most interesting story about?
Wow. Well that's a giant toss-up. If we're talking about re-connections, I think I will still have to go with my brother and sister. Is that story really interesting? It's just that they're my way younger siblings that I never see, but that doesn't seem very interesting. Much more interesting would be all the stories I could tell about all the other people that I don't know I could call it "reconnected with" since I have them here on LJ, so have I really been reconnecting? Possibly not so much, and I've got good ones about practically all of them. I have yet to add someone from my deep dark past yet, though I did find an old middle school friend who was a long time crush of mine, the subject of my very first LJ post as a matter of fact, but since he's such an unbelievable prig now I decided to not bother adding him. I suspect we don't like each other much anymore.

4. What is the story?
Well if I really went with the person on Facebook that I have the most interesting story about, I would definitely not be able to tell it fully and do the moments complete justice, at least not in a nice flamingly open public meme. *teasers* So I guess I would have to go with the fact that it was probably much of Nikki's influence that helped me come to realize I was bisexual and utterly in denial about it. In talking to her, getting to know her, I began to finally logically question things about myself. In a large way Nikki is responsible for quite a number of my vitally important head rearrangements that took place during college, simply by being the seriously awesome and intelligent person that she is. Just talking to her can change your life! :) I hate to think about who I might've been if I had NOT met her. *shudders*

5. What am I doing awake?
Well, if you are awake now it's because it's late morning and you should be. Likely you meant last night, in which case I would bet it had to do with the icky sticky heat and the fact that weekends often leave us more wired than tired. Sunday night is the worst.

I am a little surprised I didn't come across you in searches! Did you not put in Hampshire or something? I went through many years looking for people I knew, and didn't see anyone matching your name or descriptors...

Well, I'm relatively new, and I haven't spent much time fleshing it out or searching for other peoples.

oh, and your questions are...

1. What is the thing about Go that you find most appealing?
2. If you had only enough time to pack a suitcase of your stuff and run before your knew house was going to be swallowed up in the supposed big northwestern earthquake, what would you pack and why?
3. How many roads must a man walk down?
4. What is it about architectural photography that really speaks to you? I really adore your various series of Portland buildings and signs.
5. Do you have an ultimate favourite video game, and if you do, why do you find it so fascinating to play?

I realized too late commenting would get me questions...

Does the comment *have* to be desultory? Does this count? ;)

Of course it does!

1. How's it going?
2. Where's it going? ;)
3. Tell me about the music you've been listening to lately. Would you recommend anything to me in particular?
4. What do you think I should write about next?
5. Does film have a solid future? What do you think would be the next "coming thing"?

It is 4pm on a Monday and I am lacking motivation. I leave this as a comment of no significance. But if you want a lyric, let's try: Some are like water, some are like the heat, some are the melody and some are the beat.

1. Did you have any interesting things happen to you while you were on your vacation? If so, care to share?
2. How's it going?
3. Now that you know where you're going to be working for the next while, any other big changes for you on the horizon? ;)
4. Why history?
5. What are you looking for in a cat when you think about whether to take one on as a new pet? Which cat quirks do you love? Which are completely annoying an unacceptable to you?

2. You've been going through a fair bit of upheaval lately, so I am curious how you're doing?
3. Why is it that I never ran into you at Hampshire until after I'd graduated and you showed up in Mod 88?
4. Why Star Wars?
5. What is your favorite Star Wars action figure (or toy) and why?

On every corner there's a giant metal Santa Claus
Who watches over us with glowing red eyes
They carry weapons and they know if you've been bad or good
Not everybody's good but everyone tries

1. When you were a child did you believe in Santa? Why or why not?
2. When are we going to see you next? ;)
3. How's it going?
4. Where's it going? ;)
5. What colour should I do my hair next? Remember that I can't afford bleach, so anything with a red/dark base is better.

So, uh, I'd love to add you on Facebook, but I can't seem to even convince it to tell me you have one. Should I be taking that personally? ;)

Whoops! I've got at least one coworker only one hop away from me on facebook, so I've got it rather paranoically locked down. You're added now. :)
