Aug. 27th, 2006 10:02 amI'm up.. Been up since just after 7. Much needs doin, but no one else is up, and I'm in no mood to change that, really. K woke up twice in the night, once for a wet diaper, and once maybe just wanting daddy or perhaps it was a desperate need to watch Muppets from Space. Either way I got the bed to myself for a while, which still didn't stop the cat from trying to shove me off it.
The cupboard, she is bare, so shopping is the word of the day. Going to the St. Jacob's Sunday market, hopefully very soon after those weasels stir, or perhaps I will just go without 'em. Anyone local feeling market-ish? No rush, I'm still in my undies with a really impressive case of blue-bed-head, so take your time, comment, we'll make actual game plans.. If I end the day with $75 worth of food, I'll be happy.
Didn't manage much cleaning when it all came down. It was a lovely rainy evening, so K decided he wanted to sit on the porch with Daddy, and I tried taking their picture in the porch light. A few really interesting images I might post out of that, like one really nice smile from
uniquecrash5 that's sure to become an icon, since I think he needs one of himself. nya nya..
This week is going to be exciting and likely terrifying, so I might be quiet, or really really loud. I'll try to use cuts, or alternately at least check in with the occasional sentence. Long story short- Spent a bunch of the summer waiting for people to call me back about a lot of stuff about K entering Kindergarten, they didn't, so I started calling them. This week they're not just getting phone calls, but random drop-in visits from me in which they will have to answer my questions, and ya know, DEAL with us. I imagine it's all going to go just fine in the end, but these moments always bring up stuff for me, so I'm bracing myself for lots of heart attacks and brave faces I will have to make. I love conflict.. NOT!
The nice thing is though, I am meeting a lot of people who keep telling me about programs I wasn't aware of. If it starts to really not work out, there's probably more options than just private school, which is how the autism society had made it seem. I definitely feel less doomy than I did when we first got here, but we also still have a long way to go.
And now the boys are finally up, so I should just hit the post button before I go all rambly and put y'all to sleep again. Happy Sunday..
