I had this grand plan to do some straightening up and cleaning and getting laundry moving again in order to feel good about leaving the house to take K to the park. I tried not to get too distracted by Livejournal, and I kept telling K I had to do some things so we could do fun things later.

Lucky for me I didn't get specific because now it's raining. *sigh*

And I really can't drive my car this week because it's technically not registered anymore, and my mom might give me hers next week so I am not going to pay all that cash just to turn the thing into a paper weight in 8 days. Seems pretty silly to me!

Crash's plane ended up being canceled, so he took a painfully early flight this morning that his Admin had neglected to tell him she'd booked- we actually drove all the way to the airport yesterday DURING RUSH HOUR, I dropped him off because K was asleep, got on the highway, took the wrong exit, got off to try to fix it, got a call from Crash saying "well..." and then in the process of trying to find the highway again I coincidentally found myself back at the airport :) I had awful Tacoma flashbacks, but it was also terribly funny. He came with me to hang out with M's mom and M and Velma over at M's house. K actually interacted pretty positively with M- he kept teasing her to get her to chase him! I would worry he's going to get the older brother syndrome of being an awful tease to get attention, but I was just so happy to see him walking up to another child and calling them by their name I didn't care if it was only to shove her a moment later ;) she was having a great time, she's a wrestler herself, in fact the last time he was over there with Crash to see M and M's father (OY I need to come up with nick names for them!) M had K in such a head lock that both Crash and M's dad were fearful for his breathing! They've both been watching just a little too much Shrek I think :)

But a lovely evening was had by all, and I got to monopolize Crash's time just a little bit longer, though I felt pretty ill toward the end of the evening and went to bed. I got up alarmingly early with him in order to say goodbye, and promptly began missing him about 2 minutes after he left. I know, it's sick, we've been married over 5 years now and together even longer than that, and I still just don't like to be without him most of the time. I do just fine when he's not around I guess, but I just like life better when he is there is all.

I got interrupted. K decided today would be a good day to take a nap. It's even a reasonable time for him to do so, so I don't fear intensely that if I let it go that it will lead to a late night, but I will likely cut it off at an hour or hour and a half.

I believe I will attempt to deal with the bedroom for a few minutes. I can't go play by play with the Fly on this one for pure logistical reasons, but by the end of the week I hope to at least have found the floor, and a new place to keep the storage bin in the middle of it. I might also just get in the bed and try to nap regardless of how it might go because if it is a late night all the coffee in the world probably won't help. Daddy usually puts him to bed, so I wouldn't put it past him to try to stay up and wait for him even if I tell him it's not going to happen.

I know how you feel about missing your husband when he's away. I'm the same way about mine. I always feel pathetic about it, but hey, that's how I feel. The instant he's out the door I miss him terribly. Thankfully he's not away much.

Totally- usually I am the one that goes away and that's much better. I have family and friends in this general region so I go on these long car trips to visit folks for weeks even, and I miss him then but less since I am seeing people I usually don't get to see. This time it's just me and the kid and the cats and the dog, and frankly they're just a little boring ;)

Can I just share - because I think you'd appreciate it - that I just did SIX loads of laundry. SIX. Well, three Mother-of-All-Loads in the mega-laundry-machines at the laundromat. Six pillowcases full of clothes. And although I did make a dent in the pile-o-crap that was starting to get slightly smelly on the floor of my bedroom, it isn't done. There is still MORE crap to wash and dry and fold. Will it ever end?

On the other hand, I now have lots of clean, dry, folded clothes that were dried in a drier rather than on my makeshift drying line here in my loft.

I hate doing laundry.
