Interview questions from
waysofseeing
Aug. 10th, 2006 12:55 pmIt's another interview meme! You should know the drill by now- I replied to
waysofseeing, he asked me these questions, I post the answers, and invite you to reply and I will ask you questions- then you post them, and people reply and you ask them questions... It's Memey goodness that just keeps a-rollin on.. SO... If you want questions, or if I still owe you questions from the last time, please feel free to comment. My brain seems to be up to the task today, so you might even get them!! :)
1. Canada or U.S.A.? Why?
Right now that's pretty easy to answer- Canada. The way things are going for us these days, we'll be needing that free health care for a long long time. There's just no way the stuff we really need is going to be well covered back in the states, in fact I hear more and more horror stories every day about families dealing with autism having to sell their houses in order to keep getting treatment because there simply isn't enough of it that's covered. Sounds like tempting fate to kick my ass by going back there. I get homesick, but it's not like it's hard to get to the US from here, and being here doesn't feel very different from being there anyway. I've had to learn some new dialect, and I will have to re-learn world history, but that's good since I don't think I learned it properly in the first place..
2. With keeping a household and taking care of K., how do you make time for yourself? What do you do with your time?
Make time? That's a tricky one.. It's harder to make time than just take advantage of some of the random times that are out there I could claim as me-time. I have lots of moments that are potentially just for me, since there are lots of moments when I am the only one around and can decide whether to use time for myself or other things. I slip in a lot of TV watching as I am doing other things, same with internet use.. I usually layer things I need to do with things I want to do in order to make sure I keep doing things and also enjoying myself. I think this is the only way my mom learned to have fun, since she's not comfortable with coming to a complete full stop like I am and just sitting on her ass to enjoy things sometimes. It makes my life a little backwards, but I've learned to take my relaxation during the early parts of the day when K isn't around, or just after sunrise when everyone is asleep.. Again, mostly reading, mostly the internet, and most importantly listening to lots of music that I missed by living under a rock for a few years. I've also been spending a lot of time writing things that I delete, or just don't look at again. I recently had a conversation with Crash that has me thinking I am going to change my entire approach, and that might have me trying to make more time for that soon, if I can stop trying and actually write.. :)
I think the bigger question is what I would do with my time if I had better control over when it happened, and what I could do with it! If I had more money, there's lots more decorating I would like to do with my living space than I am capable of, so I'd be doing a lot of that I'd bet. I'd also be doing more knitting, since right now I'm not because I'm not interested in making anything with the yarn I have on hand, which all sucks. I can't afford the yarns I'd really like. There's also a bunch of courses I would take if I could take them, but I'm still not allowed to be a student of anything other than life at the moment until I am officially a resident of Canada. I would also like to have a job and make money with my time! I never thought I would ever hear myself say that! :) Seriously though, I miss the daily routine of having to be somewhere with other adults who also have to be there. It barely matters what I'd be doing anymore, I just want that back. Soon, hopefully.. I wish I had more time to hang out with friends and stuff, but during the day most people have jobs, so I take what I can get where that's concerned.
3. Your idea of a perfect day is:
My "perfect" day is virtually impossible, as it would involve getting to do all the fun things I love to do, with all the wonderful people I know and love, and also, it would never end. It's really hard to narrow down what a realistic perfect day would involve. In my day to day life, it would start with sleeping until I wake up naturally, as opposed to being awoken to K having a bad morning, or the desperate need to pee. It would go on with things just going completely smoothly, or at least in my favour at every moment. If K would be happy to use the toilet, if the store would have everything I need in one trip, and it would be on sale. If my clothing doesn't get ripped or stained that day. If I got to see a friend, and even have a nice meal with them, one that K actually eats, especially if he ate something that was green or fruit flavoured.. Golly, there'd be a lot of really small shit that could make it a perfect day.
If we stay in the realm of the possible, my ultimate dream day right this moment would probably just turn out to be the basic fantasies of most stay-at-home gals.. A nice day at an expensive spa, with a friend or seven, a nice lunch with nice coffee.. Perhaps a date later, especially a really hot date that would go on and on, you know.. *wink wink, nudge nudge*
4. Your most sure-fire turn-on is:
Throughout time I have been looking for that one thing that makes me go all tingly above all other things, and I hate to say it, but there doesn't seem to be any one thing. There's lots of random things that have made me tingle, but did not continue to do so after too much repeating, and not with every single person I've tried them with. A lot of the time the thing that turns me on depends on who I'm being turned on by, and what we're doing. Some people, just holding their hand would be enough to kill me with lust, where others could bite me on the neck and drag their fingernails down my thighs for hours, and I wouldn't blink an eye. So I guess the only sure-fire turn on would be to be someone I am turned on by, and reciprocate it. Then usually whatever you do will turn me on just fine. *ahems* *evil grinning*
5. If you could travel (with Crash & K., if you like) anywhere in the world, all expenses paid plus full child care, where would you go?
Can I say everywhere? That's usually what I want to say because it's entirely too hard for me to decide. I've been a lot of really cool places that I would love to take my boys, but there's just a ton of other places I've never been that I would also like to see. Really what I would love would be to have a whole year to go everywhere we've ever wanted to, just take a couple days in a thousand little places all over, make it more about the journey and the experience than a specific place. If I was forced to narrow it down, I would probably say Japan, because likely it's the most expensive so I'd be happy to do that on someone else's tab!

Date: 2006-08-10 05:34 pm (UTC)2. How do you see the future working out?
3. Where would you like to be in ten years?
4. If you could live in another era, which would you pick and why?
5. I am tempted to ask you to reveal some really interesting or scandalous secret from your past, but somehow I think you wouldn't do it. How about a scandalous secret from your past that you WISH was true, but wasn't? You get bonus points (which are meaningless and cannot be used as legal tender) if you actually reveal a scandalous secret.. :)

3. What's your favorite mode of transportation? What do you like most about it?
4. What kinds of things do you like to do to entertain yourself during a long flight or similar long journey?
5. How did you come to love food and cooking, and when did you realize it consciously?

Date: 2006-08-10 06:07 pm (UTC)2) Driver - I'm too much of a control freak - I get nauseous with 95% of the other drivers out there.
3) I'd have to say car - even if it isn't ecologically smart - the ability to go just about anywhere without it being at someone else's schedule, or my own exhaustion.
4) Knit. Read. Play cards. Nap. Read some more. Philosophical meta-discussions.
5) My mom decided when my sister and I were pre-teens that we would help out in the kitchen (my parents had split and she was working full time with an hour commute). I made supper MWF, my sister T/R. Mom would cook on weekends. I realised I really loved it when I could start feeding my friends and they were actually *happy* that I would do it, because it was good. That was probably university...
Hit me baby one more time...
Date: 2006-08-11 02:57 am (UTC)I love this meme because it gets me to blog and perhaps think/ blog about stuff I might not normally think/blog about.
I don't want to guilt you... but yeah, I asked you to ask me 5 last time...

Date: 2006-08-11 03:53 pm (UTC)2. Where do you figure LJ-drama comes from?
3. If you could pick a super power, what would it be?
4. Since I know pretty much where you stand on Driver or Passenger, I'd like to ask you what you think the ultimate mode of transportation would be for the perpetually motion-sick. Is there something we could be telling scientists and engineers to think about when pondering the future of travel?
5. What book do you feel every parent needs to read, and why?

Date: 2006-08-11 02:40 pm (UTC)Do I get to ask hard questions, or will that just make you fail to ever post the answers? ;)
no subject
Date: 2006-08-11 06:21 pm (UTC)Easy:
1. Why gaming?
2. What's the easiest thing about being with me?
3. What are the three things you most want to know about someone when you first meet them, besides the really obvious things like their name?
4. What kinds of clothing do you find sexy on other boys?
5. If life were a comic book, what would the title of your story be?
And now on to the hard questions! Mwahahahahahahahaha! :)
In light of our recent discussion about your posts-
1. Since it's obvious from the above, I'll just get it over with- What's the hardest thing about being with me? It's okay to answer this, since I mostly know what the hard things are, I'm just curious which one in particular is THE hardest, and maybe all of LJ wants to know too, since I whine about myself so much! ;)
2. What do you fear most?
3. You don't get angry very often, but I know it happens. What makes you really angry even just thinking about it?
4. When did you decide you wanted to be with me for the rest of your life? When did you decide it was okay to tell me, and why?
5. Be honest.. If I were going to turn into any member of my family in particular, who would you worry about me turning into the most? If you say my mom, you have to mention at least 10 reasons why you don't think it'll actually happen.. ;)
