It's hot. Did I mention it's hot? I think I did, but let me reiterate just to be absolutely clear on this.. It's gone beyond hot to just short of boiling as far as I can tell. I can't let my limbs touch each other, even putting my hands on the keyboard is sticky.. I don't want to take off my bra for fear of my boobs meeting my chest entirely too much and creating a river of sweat that could flood the basement. Even the cat who you would normally find sleeping on a heating vent, while it's running, is laid out on the linoleum as if she were melted. I'm trying my best to be a good little environmentalist for the most part, only driving my car sometimes and not owning an AC, but damn... I really want an AC today after spending most of the day in the blessed cool womb of the car..

My trip to Toronto was nice and also bloody hot. I found my cheap-ass stuff that I wanted though, and I didn't spend much in Ikea, so it's good. I only bought 4 of the new shapes of ice cube trays. K will only drink water if it has ice cubes in it, and is much nicer and easy going about it if they are fun shapes.. We had circles, arrows, and sticks previously. Today I picked up hearts, stars, triangles, and puzzle pieces!! I could do the whole Lucky Charms in ice form, practically :P I have lost lots of my bag clips it seems, so I grabbed more of those, and a large air-tight jar with lid thing that matches my others to keep cookies and muffins in. In Kensington I grabbed a bamboo steamer, in hopes I was also going to find tasty frozen dim sum stuff at the Dominion, but neither of the stores I went to seemed to carry them. Puzzling, since they always seemed to have it in quantity at the one near me. Eventually I was too tired and hot to even think about driving all the way out to the East Danforth area though, so I just went home finally. Didn't leave TO until a little later than I was planning because I actually ran into a guy I know (who is not on LJ) and his girlfriend, and his girlfriend's new 8 week old Boston Terrier puppy that he had gotten her recently, which I had to hold and pet and talk to in silly voices for an extended period of time before I could leave town. Yes, I am just about dead from the puppy lust. Lots of people wish it would rain around here right now, but I would seriously vote for it raining cats and dogs. I would really love it if a new dog would fall out of the sky for me, because so far Petfinder is coughing up a big loud empty in the non-allergenic department. *pouts*

I have allergies, too, and am starting to think about getting a pup. Jeremiah wants an airdale and I want a great dane, but airdales need haircuts and danes need more space than we'll have. Do you know if any pups are actually low-allergen, or do they just say that?

I definitely think there is such a thing. We've noticed that my husband has fewer reactions to certain low-allergen dogs, like Poodles and Bichon Frises. He reacts to his mom's dog which is a Lab and Bouvier cross, but not to my mom's which is a Wheaten Terrier. The largest dog I am aware of that's low-allergen and a registered breed is the Wheaten, unless the Labradoodle has been declared an official breed ;) We are sticking with a smaller dog though because I still want something I can scoop under one arm if I have to run after the kiddo.. I can't see doing that with a Labradoodle, they get huge! I am not completely sure, but you might be able to get away with the Airedale? I would think so at least, since they grow their hair and are kinda wooly like poodles..

Whatever you decide to do, try to meet the dog first. Our usual test is to have my husband just go ahead and stick his face in the belly of something like what we're thinking about getting. If he doesn't end up with breathing problems, we're good! :) I don't recommend this if you're really seriously allergic though! Your mileage may vary ;)

What do you think about the wheatons? Coming from a great dane and mastiff family, I'm having a hard time thinking that something small and puffy could possibly be a real dog, haha.

They're bigger than you think! :) I think they can get to be as tall as 28 inches at the shoulder? Usually closer to 20 though, and they're only puffy if you let their hair get long. We've had 2. They turn into sheep over the winter, and then you just shave 'em when it gets warm, and keep cutting it short, and then they're not so puffy.. Besides, sheep are fun! :)

They are very much all dog though, since they are practically the smartest and most attitudinal of all the terrier family. :P They think they're human, so they should be entitled to anything, even if they have to go behind your back to get it.. VERY much a dog, oh yah!

So you grew up with big dogs? Were you always allergic to them? I think that's why we always had the wheatens, because we are supposedly all allergic.

I've never had a dog that lived inside. I grew up on a farm, so having 140lb danes and a 160 lb neopolitan mastiff was no problem.

AH yes, that would make a big difference... Sharing a house with an animal is a much different story. That might also be another good test- Spend an evening at the house of someone who owns that type of dog!! :) That is often another telling thing that happens with us. Even little Boston Terriers can get my husband's sinuses running. A serious shame, since I have always loved those, and really anything with that kind of head.. :) I would've loved to have a Dane, but that would kill him.

Oh, I forgot to mention, they average around 50 lbs, so yeah, I would call them medium sized at the smallest. The only time Emma ever looks small to me is when she's standing next to Sisco, who is probably about as tall as your average Dane because of the Bouvier in her.. So yeah, I guess I can see why you'd think they were tiny LOL! :)

don't want to take off my bra

::holds back dry heaves::

The feeling of hot, sweaty skin, touching other hot, sweaty skin literally makes we want to vomit. When it is hot and I am trying to sleep I FREAK out if my legs are touching because of the sweat ::heaves::

Don't even get me started on my hatred of under boob sweat! ::dry heaves heaves::

Or, or OR when B wants to get all romantic and lays up against me and I can feel HIS SWEATY HEAT mixing with MINE??! ::projectile vomits::

gives me the heeby fucking jeebies. I will try to read the rest of your post now.

BUT if B's sweaty heat is on me, but it's just from the passionate sex, I am so okay with that. It's when he and I are already hot and sweaty just from heat that makes me splooge
