Ponder- Jewelry storage...
Mar. 1st, 2006 02:37 pmYou will want to ignore this post if you don't own jewelry, as it will bore you to sleep.
I'm feeling dorky. See, I did a useful thing- I sorted all the supposedly good, or sentimental jewelry out of my stuff that I both don't wear, and would be sad if were lost or stolen. Using a technique I learned from all the old hoarding gals in my family, I've put it all into smaller jewelry boxes that could be hidden and stuffed in drawers. The stuff in my big, obvious, has-to-be-left-in-the-open jewelry box is now mostly just stuff I like, stuff that I think looks cool, but has no real value or sentimental attachment. I've even moved the things I wear into another small box that I could slip into a book bag if I need to.
Next step is packing, and that's where the brain lock sets in. The box I really wanted to use is HYUGE, so I am tempted to just throw ALL the above boxes (excepting the one of stuff I actually wear of course) into the big ol' box, and not think about it. But since I just spent hours sorting through the shit, the logic failure of then packing them all together where they can all get stolen or lost anyway seems a little dorky... I mean, if that's what I am doing, didn't I just waste HOURS when I could have just packed the big, unsorted jewelry box, and the empty smaller boxes into the big ol' box and been done with it? Logic would dictate that I separate them, just on principal, even though this will throw off my box packing plans, which are probably way too over-thought, and obsessive... *sigh*
I probably just need a whack with the clue hammer... Hey Hippy! GET OVER YOURSELF! - Love, Hippy...

Hippy, hippy, hippy...
Date: 2006-03-01 12:09 pm (UTC)Better to have lots of small boxes. Do you have a source of office supply paper boxes? You've got folks up there that you see that have office jobs, yes?
Anyway, sending *mojo* - what you are doing is HARD work, and I know it.
