I've been getting the short end of the stick when it comes to computer sharing. With Crash still job hunting, and K finally having mastered the use of the mouse, I am suddenly finding myself DAYS and even WEEKS behind on my LJ reading, any posts I wanted to write, and fuck even thinking about going through my photo site and shrinking things to thumb nail size one at a time so I can get enough space back to put up new stuff.

GRAH. WANT BOX!!!

And the best part is that when it could actually be my turn on the damn thing, I'm usually far too incoherent, tired, or just unmotivated to deal with it. GRAH!

I want my own box, which is of course insane and impossible because there is no money for anything, not to even begin to think about selfishly wanting my own box. I just want it because I am sick and tired of feeling rushed, or not even getting my time. GRAH!

If it's just for web access, I might be able to throw something together for you... ;)

Really?? Wow. That'd be amazing, because that's basically all I really want it for. We used to have a large collection of spare parts, but just short of enough to make a full box, and the box it made would be nothing you would want to actually try to work on. A new parts box would be just the kind of thing we could use!! We might even be able to combine efforts with you! :)

And thank you!! *hugs*

I'm trying to clear out some of the parts we haven't been using, so I'll go through the stash. I can't guarantee quality of parts, but I think we've got some pretty decent processors laying around and you don't need horribly high quality video and sound for web browsing.

I'll let you know.

Perhaps we can play Frankenstein by Committee! I might post a list of what I gots, and what I needs, and see if people can fill in the blanks for me with whatever they want to throw out! :)

sure! it'll be an excuse for me to do a bit of housecleaning and fidgeting; always a good thing.

I'll have to figure out how to get them to you, but I have a couple old, already-built PCs and a couple old monitors sitting around my house. I'm happy to send one to you if I can figure out how to keep the shipping costs down.

They won't let you play the Latest and Greatest Games, but for web surfing and sundry life maintenance, they should be fine.

I think the most processor-intensive thing they'd need to do is run 'Putt-Putt Saves The Zoo'. Though if it could play Zuma, that'd be an added bonus.

Can't help you out with any bits and pieces because we're not techy enough... I still think there's a little man in there!

But I do so feel your pain with the computer sharing business. Ever since I introduced the big bloke to ebay, I need to beat him with a stick so it can be my turn; the little bloke has discovered there are copious pictures of *him* that he can watch, plus, he can do drawings on paintbox.

I wanna laptop! Then, instead of having to write assignments by hand at the dining table then push D off the computer so I can type what I've written; I'd be able to just sit in one spot and work away. Mmmmmm laptop with a wireless internet connection...
