I'm being quiet again, mostly because I am bleeding :P

Speaking of bleeding, you should read THIS if you haven't already... Many many folks have posted this link, and it's worth it- skip it if you're squeamish, but if you're male and you've never understood what all the rage is about, read it. It will help you understand when I say aloud, finally, that ALWAYS-tm CAN KISS MY ASS!!! I used to like their pads but now I think they suck out loud. I was happy when they made the larger size, but since they've changed every other fucking thing, their pads are now for shit unless you spend the entire day NOT MOVING or something...

Enough about bleeding.

The weekend was really useful. We had some unfortunate shopping experiences (many of which were preventable by a little knowing better on everyone's part) but got lots of stuff done in the house. The living room is now completely rearranged and 2 boxes have gone into storage and could also be moved. I am ready to finally set up the f'ing fish tanks, except for the need for a filter on one. It's added about 6 inches of floor space, but in doing so has made the room feel more open. It's inspiring me to possibly buy slip covers for the couch and chair and see if we can't make it look sort of nice! I have many evil plans that I shouldn't have for a woman who really wants to move, so I am trying to channel them into throwing out more stuff. We did manage to make about 50 video tapes leave the collection, mostly through realizing we had the things on DVD now, but also by just admitting that we never watch them. The CD collection is next in that regard. Since MP3 technology has come to be, I've come to realize that there's only some stuff I really feel the need to OWN, where there's a lot more I like to "have around"- and having it on the computer is good enough if we get a bigger hard drive eventually, which we will. No need to keep so many CD's.

In the kid department, K might be thinking about potty training. He insisted on removing his own diaper twice today, and at one point wouldn't take it back. I went and got the only underpants we have (I recently gave up on the set I was dangling as a carrot and gave them to my cousin-in-law for his boys) and he put them on, and I explained that these were underpants, even showed him my own, and that he was to tell me when he wanted to go potty. He peed before that happened though, so I took them off and now he's in a pull-up. Those things don't have a lot of holding power though, so I hope he will take a diaper later. I don't know if I am ready for the potty training process. I'd like the house to be a little cleaner so I can spot accidents better, but I can't rightly keep him in diapers against his will either.

Speaking of forcing someone to wear diapers, I think we are at that point with Betty. She's not totally peeing, but she leaves tiny puddles whenever and wherever she sleeps. She's 15, it's not her fault, but I can't afford to replace the carpet here before we leave so it's time for Doggy Depends.

At some point I have a bunch of thinky-blathery posts I want to write about a bunch of stuff. My dad, and how he managed to call ON MY BIRTHDAY this year, and how unprepared I was for it... My mom, and how I can see how my whole childhood went down and see how K's is going down and how it relates to life and the universe and the greater truths of existence as we know it. And lots of stuff on me and how I've realized I relate to this whole "being a mom" thing, and thoughts about what I can and should do about it. I might even talk about politics. I know y'all hate promissory notes like this, but I am SO ON THE RAG you don't want me to attempt to write real things right now. I only promise so you know that I KNOW how boring I am sometimes so as to reassure you that eventually I will be interesting again so y'all don't dump my sorry bleeding ass while I work out my updates and complaining...

Speaking of boring blathering- I will shut up now, but not before finally saying THANK YOU to everyone who sent me wonderful birthday wishes! I really appreciate it :)

I use StayFree Ultra-Thin with Wings Overnights. Heh, they are like, plenty big, and very thin, and pretty damn sweet, for a pad. I've been using them for years now, because I can't stand leaking out the front or back, and they are so long that is NEVER a problem, no matter how I'm slumped around. Of course, that being said, I STILL HATE GETTING MY PERIOD. heh.
