Today I tried to pick up the living room area and vacuum yet again. I found a gelatin lolli-pop of Blue the dog from Blues Clues that K of course LOVES like no tomorrow. He saw it and played with it for a little while, then left it.

Later, now very hungry for dinner, he comes back to it suddenly as food. He asks me to open it and then goes so far as to chew off the top of the head and one ear. Then suddenly he stops... I sort of saw his conflict, and remembered my own childhood conflict with animal crackers- he couldn't bring himself to bite her head off :) I went and got his stuffed Blue and tried to assure him that he wasn't really eating Blue but a facsimile thereof, but still he persisted in not wanting the lolli :) He's already too sentimental! Hurray!
