Anyone want a pretty leather mask?
( Cut for image )I've decided I don't want this lovely thing anymore, not for lack of liking it, but because I can't help but associate it with the person who gave it to me. That would be my ex-monster, the red-headed thing. Though we had said we'd be friends, we haven't spoken in years, he will never visit me, and if
number42 doesn't take it for himself or his girlfriend, then he will also never know because I can't see him suddenly coming for a visit (though I could see him visiting ol' 42, and if he did get offended, I would chuckle).
So it just sits and stares all blank eyed at me, reminding me that I don't have his friendship anymore, the one thing about him I ever valued. So, I think it's high time someone with no bad associations gets to enjoy this hand-made leather painted mask, by a well known artist whose name I've forgotten since it's been years since I got to go to the
Seattle Folk Life Festival, which is where I always saw the pretty pretty masks and wanted one. I secretly never liked it as much as others they had, with feathers and stuff, so I will simply buy another one from the same artist someday when I can afford to trek all the way out to Seattle again, and buy a very expensive mask... I just don't feel like I have to hold onto this one in the mean time, since my first impulse is to put it back in its box.
I will make the comments screened in case you want to make me an offer ;) Depending on who you are, it might just be a random birthday present, so feel free to speak up. Also, if you are from WA and know the artist's name, I would appreciate you speaking up so I could credit them. Searching yielded nothing I could concretely say was the right person, but y'all have likely seen the booth to which I refer.
