I forgot to mention that yesterdays total is 6822. That's a lot less than I was shooting for, but I got over a couple hurdles, and I feel like today might be good. I realize I am getting too goal oriented about it, which while it's being good to keep me going to a certain extent, is also causing me tension. Tension, in case I haven't mentioned it before, is bad ;)

But yesterday was lots of fun and goodness. I did some writing in the morning, but mostly a little straightening up and stuff to get ready to shave [livejournal.com profile] neeuqdrazil's head down to 1/2 inch. She came over and we did that (and it looks MIGHTY cute, I might add, no thanks to me though since I am not responsible for the fine shape of her head). Then we sat around and I babbled at her for a while about NaNoWriMo before we started crafting. I've started making a little poncho. I'm seeing them everywhere, they're obviously all the rage right now, and happily they're also easy as shit to make, so I'm making one so I can see how I look in them. I'm literally almost half done with the one I started yesterday afternoon. I love working with giant needles and bulky yarn. Plus, if it's this easy, I might just start making them while I am sitting around and then start selling them. I saw one in a store for about $60 of the quality I am trying to make. I paid $60 for enough yarn to make 10 of them, so I see an opportunity here! It's been a while since something I can make easily has come into wild popularity, so I'm just excited is all....

We did get a new TV, somewhat later in the evening- a 27" flat screen that cost more than we were planning on, but my philosophy where such things is concerned is always to buy what you're going to want if it won't kill you, so you don't start getting the urges to buy the same things again and again. All the things short of this one were no-name brands that looked like scary crap, and we weren't willing to settle for smaller. Anyone who remembers the 6 months we watched a 19 incher (raised over 6 ft off the ground, stupidly) probably remembers why... ;)

I should get back to it, but before I go I will share the best SPAM sender name I've gotten all month: Lackadaisically F. Slimy

I'm not going to look, I know today wasn't a very productive day on the word front. Sinuses, combined with a minor hang up of how to proceed (yes, I got stuck on the pie fight of all things, but I think I have a brilliant way to fix my problems in that department) kept me sort of sitting and knitting today. Good for ponchos, bad for NaNo... But I have a clearer head for starting tomorrow, plus my idea is now forming helpfully. A little too helpfully. It's maybe a little too funny, reminding me of some of the crap I used to write in high school when I was just fucking around. Not that that's a bad thing, just, I dunno.... I'm not going to chicken out on it, but the pie fight will be the main thing that needs work, believe it or not, if I ever decide this is good enough to bother editing. And frighteningly enough I now really want to keep it...
